In order to rent or lease a car from Sixt Singapore, you will need to comply with Singapore’s driving requirements. You will need to posses a valid Singapore driving license for All Singaporeans and PRs.

Foreigners who are staying in Singapore for less than 12 months will have to produce a valid foreign driving license and an International Driving Permit (IDP).

If an International Driving Permit is not available, a translation of your foreign driving license to the English Language is required.

Foreigners who continue to stay in Singapore after 12 months will be required to obtain a valid Singapore Driving License before renting or leasing a car from Sixt Singapore. This can be done by applying for a driving license (if you don’t have one) or converting your existing foreign license to a Singapore driving license.

The following credit cards are accepted: all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron). The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card.

Cheques are not accepted. Cash Payment is not accepted.

Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.

An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

A deposit is generally charged when you rent with SIXT, and the amount depends on the country and location you are renting in, as well as what car category you book. High-end or luxury vehicles may have a higher deposit amount. The deposit amount will be charged to the credit card you provide when picking up your car rental.

You can pay for a SIXT rental with a major credit card at all branches. Some branches accept debit cards issued by a major financial institution when accompanied by two forms of government ID. Locations in certain countries also accept cash payment, although you may also need to present a credit card for the deposit.

We offer a range of useful extras you can choose to add to your rental, either when booking or picking up your car. Add GPS to find the fastest route, child seats to keep everyone safe, an additional driver to share time behind the wheel, or choose a protection package for peace of mind.

You can add an additional driver to your rental contract either while booking or at the counter. Additional drivers need to present a valid driver’s license. There is a fee for an additional driver.

One-way rentals within Sixt locations in Singapore are allowed under conditions depending on tarif.

International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.

In the case of unannounced and unauthorised one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
